About Charlotte, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
With approximately 860,000 residents as of 2018, Charlotte is the most populous city in North Carolina. It serves as the seat of Mecklenburg County, and it is also the 17th largest city in the country by population. Home to the corporate headquarters of Bank of America, Charlotte is one of the largest bank centers in the U.S., but there are plenty of other economic opportunities within the city limits. Other Fortune 500 companies found here include Honeywell, Lowe’s, and Duke Energy. Charlotte is also home to several colleges and universities, including the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Johnson & Wales University, and Johnson C. Smith University.
The City of Charlotte is a cultural hub with plenty of things to see and do. Museums are popular and include the Mint Museum, the Carolinas Aviation Museum, and the Levine Museum of the New South. Theatrical performances from the Charlotte Ballet and Charlotte Symphony Orchestra are held throughout the year, and the Carolina Renaissance Festival operates in the city in October and November.
Charlotte experiences a moderate climate that can be attributed to the sheltering effect form the Appalachian Mountains. This means that the cool winter season seldom brings extremely cold temperatures or heavy snow. Average daily highs in January reach about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, although many evenings experience freezing temperatures. Additionally, the region only receives an average of four inches of total snowfall each year, but the potential for freezing temperatures is reason enough to invest in a reliable furnace with a high AFUE rating.
Summers in Charlotte are very different in terms of weather conditions. The season is long and features hot and humid days mitigated by cooler nights. Average daily high temperatures reach into the 90s on approximately 44 days per year, and the area may also experience thundershowers before moving into a drier fall season. Most Charlotte residents rely on their home central air conditioning system to stay cool during this time of the year, and the right system will also improve indoor air quality.
